Phoenix police have identified the man shot near the intersection of 17th St and Southern yesterday afternoon as 34-year-old.

According to police, Austin was inside a maroon SUV when he got into an altercation with the driver of a white pickup truck over pedestrians in a crosswalk. Both men were armed, and things got so out of control that one or both started shooting.

The two were yelling and honking at each other, and as shots were fired, they caused a chain reaction crash. No one else was seriously hurt.
