A man who fell into a manhole in north Phoenix Monday morning has been rescued.
Phoenix firefighters used a system of ropes to retrieve the man from a 15-foot deep concrete hole at the Norterra construction site near 25th Avenue and Happy Valley Road, Phoenix Fire Captain Victor Rangel said.
The man was conscious throughout the rescue, Rangel said, and he has been transported to John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital with lower back and leg injures.
Rangel was unsure of how the man fell into the hole.
