Defense Gives Closing Arguments in Baseline Killer Trial

The defense for Mark Goudeau, the man suspected in the nine murders attributed to the Baseline Killer, is expected to give closing arguments on Tuesday. Goudeau has pleaded not-guilty to all nine killings.

Scottsdale Police Bust Thieves With iPhone App

Scottsdale police say two burglars stole property from a north Scottsdale home including an iPhone over the weekend.

Using the iPhone’s remote GPS tracking, they were able to follow their vehicle and make an arrest. A Mesa man, Raul Montiel, and a Gilbert man, Damien Armour, were arrested and booked into the Scottsdale jail.

Driver Airlifted to Hospital After Goodyear Accident

Person of Interest in Sex Investigation Found Dead in Pool

A man whom Phoenix police were looking for as a person of interest in an investigation into unlawful sexual conduct with a minor has been found dead at the bottom of a pool in a backyard near the 7000 block of West Taylor Street.

UPDATE:
The man has been identified as 58-year-old James Ziarnick and his residence has been listed as near 75th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Woman Escapes Central Phoenix Apartment Fire

A neighbor noticed smoke coming from a condominium near Seventh Avenue and Camelback Road early Tuesday morning and was able to alert the single occupant of the building in time for the homeowner to escape. The homeowner, Patricia Taylor, credited her neighbor Dawn Ziegler with saving her life.

Drunken Mesa Woman Tries to Bite Firefighter

An extremely dunk and belligerent Kimberly Hastriter was booked for criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct after kicking a firefighter and attempting to bite another. Police were called to a Mesa residence by the occupant who claimed Hastriter was trying to force her way into the home. Firefighters were checking her vital signs when they were attacked.

Violent Collision At Higley High School Injures 11
