Free hepatitis B testings and vaccinations at the downtown ASU Health Center

On Thursday, 21 February 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. there will be free hepatitis B testing and vaccinations at the ASU Health Center in downtown Phoenix (500 N. 3rd Street).

The testing is free and open to anyone.

Renaissance Festival

The Arizona Renaissance Festival opens in Apache Junction. The festival features a medieval amusement park, a 12-stage theater, and a 30-acre circus. Tickets are $18 for adults and $6 for children.

Bobby Seale to speak in Phoenix on February 20th

Bobby SealeOne of the original “Chicago Eight” and chairman of the Black Panther Party, Bobby Seale is speaking at the Bulpitt Auditorium at Phoenix College on the 20th. Admission is free.

Seale was one of seven others charged with conspiracy and inciting riot during the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison.

Hoop dance at the Heard Museum

More than 50 dancers will perform for the World Champion Hoop Dancer title at the Heard Museum this weekend. Competition starts at 9:30 tomorrow (also ran today but I’m a half day late) and the final rounds begin at around 2pm. Admission is $10 or $7 for members of the Heard Museum or American Indians who provide proof of tribal enrollment.
