Glendale man arrested for shining a mirror at planes
A Glendale man has been arrested on drug charges after erratic behavior in Prescott in which he would shine a mirror at airplanes flying overhead, authorities said Thursday.
Casey Joe Wells, 29, was booked Wednesday in a Yavapai County on charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, said Susan Quayle, a spokeswoman for the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies used a Taser, an electronic stun gun, to subdue Wells after he acted aggressively, refused to cooperate and resisted any contact or verbal commands, Quayle said.
“Wells was found to be in possession of a pouch containing methamphetamine, a straw and a mirror,” Quayle said. “Reports from a witness state that Wells had been doing drugs non-stop for several days.”
He was taken into custody after deputies investigated reports of a man engaged in suspicious behavior on a road near U.S. 89A in Prescott, she said.
Witnesses related that the man, wearing only cut-off shorts, was shining a mirror into his own face and then at airplanes, Quayle said.
Deputies arrived and found Wells waving his arms erratically, running around and then lying on the ground, she said.
