Smoking ban begins tomorrow

Arizona restaurants and bars are no longer allowed to let customers smoke inside their establishments beginning tomorrow.

The new regulations require smoking areas to be outside and 20 feet away from the nearest interior door. Many Valley bars fear losing business or closing entirely because of the ban.

South Phoenix party shooting leaves two dead, nine wounded

Two people are dead and another 9 wounded following a shooting at an overnight party in South Phoenix.

Police responded to the scene just after 2 a.m. Sunday to find 11 victims at a house near 31st Avenue and West Durango Street.

Investigators say a fight broke out at the party and quickly escalated when someone started shooting.

Paramedics rushed all 11 victims to the hospital, but a 19-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man died. Their names have not yet been released pending notification of family members.
