South Phoenix party shooting leaves two dead, nine wounded

Two people are dead and another 9 wounded following a shooting at an overnight party in South Phoenix.

Police responded to the scene just after 2 a.m. Sunday to find 11 victims at a house near 31st Avenue and West Durango Street.

Investigators say a fight broke out at the party and quickly escalated when someone started shooting.

Paramedics rushed all 11 victims to the hospital, but a 19-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man died. Their names have not yet been released pending notification of family members.

Test for light rail cars goes smoothly

Engineers tested one of the light rail cars near 50th Street and Washington reaching speeds of up to 55 mph. The test reportedly went smoothly.

Phoenix Fire Department rescues two at Piestewa Peak

Phoenix Fire pulled two injured hikers off Piestewa Peal today.

A 79-year-old woman transported off the mountain after injuring her hip. Later in the day a 12-year old girl was pulled off the east side of the mountain after twisting her ankle.
