Missing woman feared dead
19-year-old Jackie Hartman is feared dead after police arrest an ex-con who admitted to seeing her the day she disappeared.
A 19-year-old woman who disappeared early Sunday is believed to have been killed by an ex-convict who has been arrested on charges of sexual assault in the case, according to court documents. Jonathan Burns, 25, was arrested Monday evening after police found evidence in a trash bin at a Chandler apartment complex, Gilbert Sgt. Andrew Duncan said Tuesday. According to a police probable cause statement released after Burns’ initial court appearance Tuesday, officers believe Jacquelan “Jackie” Hartman was killed by Burns after he raped her. Hartman was last seen with Burns at about 2 a.m. Sunday, and was supposed to meet her sister about three hours later.
