- Scottsdale police shot and killed a Mesa man late Wednesday after he came out of his house and pointed a handgun at officers, police said. The 35-year-old man was under investigation for assaulting a Scottsdale homeowner near 90th Place and Thomas road earlier in the day.

Authorities on Wednesday arrested more than 30 people with felony warrants living in a concentrated area of Maryvale.

They were among 200 people with outstanding warrants for violent and property crimes that live between 63rd and 71st avenues and Encanto Boulevard and Osborn Road.
