ASU Kid Attempt Cactus Homicide.

“Three male ASU students, two 20-year-olds and one 21-year-old, were arrested early Saturday morning on the 1500 block of South McAllister Avenue and charged with destruction of a native plant.

The suspects allegedly attempted to pull a saguaro cactus down using a hammer and jumper cables.

When police approached one of the suspects, he reportedly dropped his end of the jumper cables and told officers, “I can’t talk now. I have to go back to the house.”
