George and Dragon Pub and Restaurant

The George and Dragon Pub is one of the most popular English pubs in Central Phoenix. It's also a relatively old establishment relative to the rest of Phoenix.

On an average night the bar itself is usually pretty well full with regulars. If you'd like a quieter atmosphere they have a private dining are at the north end of the building.

The George and Dragon is a great place for a variety or reasons. Interesting characters seem to gravitate to the place and there's usually pretty competitive pool being played at the south end of the building.
 

Unfortunately they do have karaoke. And unfortunately I don't know which night it is. I do know that it is not on Thursday, which is quiz night.

On quiz night the bar owner David passes out sheets of paper to the players for recording their answers. He then reads off forty questions. After all the questions are read the answers are tallied and the winners are announced, The first place winner wins something like a $50 gift certificate to the the bar. Generally that doesn't even put a dent in the winner's tab.
