Bill Johnson, the original 'shock jock' radio broadcaster, was the inspration for this family owned chain of restaurants. Johnson broadcasted a pirate radio show from a fake jail cell set up in his first restaurant on Van Buren St. Eventually this show would propel him to local fame after his show was aired on KTAR, KPHO, KRIZ, KJJJ.
Following Bill Johnson's death, the Johnson family opened five more stores in other Phoenix locations.
All of the restaurants have a western theme with servers wearing gunbelts and cowboy hats, sawdust on the floor, and other wild-west memorabelia
