The Orignal Hamburger Works is in central Phoenix north of the quiet Encanto neighborhood. Open since 1974, the Hamburger Works is one of the older casual restaurants near downtown. In between Phoenix College and the Encanto Municipal Golf Course the bar/restaurant has a neighborhood feel to it. Actually, an in-your-own-backyard-feel is more appropriate. Outside the dining and bar area is a patio with several fire pits, a pool table and a ping pong table.

Inside the Hamburger Works there's a cafeteria style dining area where you order your food at a kitchen window and pick it up at another window when it's finished.

Next door to the dining room is a full circle (square) bar that's usually good for conversation and cheap drinks.

The Hamburger Works hamburgers are made to order and served straight from the charcoal grill. The condiment 'wagon' has everything you need.

Part of the Hamburger Works business philosophy is low cost good food. For just a dollar more than you would pay for fast food you can a fresh, personally cooked dinner with great service.
