#1: The Original Hamburger Works is in central Phoenix north of the quiet Encanto neighborhood. Open since 1974, the Hamburger Works is one of the older casual restaurants near downtown. In between Phoenix College and the Encanto Municipal Golf Course, the bar/restaurant has a neighborhood feel to it. Actually, an in-your-own-backyard-feel is more appropriate. Outside the dining and bar area is a patio with several fire pits, a pool table and a Ping-Pong table.
